Slow Cooker Shredded Chicken And Bacon

  • Calories: 165 cals per 100g chicken breast, 541 per 100g bacon.
  • Protein: 31g per 100g chicken breast, 37g per 100g bacon.
  • Fat: 3.6g per 100g chicken breast, 42g per 100g bacon.
  • Carbs: 0g per 100g chicken breast, 1.4g per 100g bacon.

Ingredients

  • 5 chicken breasts
  • 10 slices of bacon
  • 2 tablespoons thyme (dried)
  • 1 tablespoon oregano (dried)
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary (dried)
  • 1 tablespoon salt

description

This is an incredibly easy recipe and the fat rendered from the bacon will keep the chicken breast moist. 
  1. Slice the bacon into strips, or dice it so that it mixes well with the other ingredients. 
  2. Place all the ingredients into a slow cooker pot at the same time.
  3. Mix together.
  4. Cook on the low-temperature setting for 8 hours or high for 3 hours.
If you need to cook this for longer than 8 hours, consider adding a small amount of chicken stock or broth to the slow cooker (roughly 2cm liquid).

Shred the chicken with two forks by roughly pulling it apart. Cut the bacon up and stir through before serving.
