INGREDIENTS
- 4 large eggs room temperature
- ½ cup sweetener (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1¼ cups whole milk, or raw
- 5 tablespoons butter, cubed
DESCRIPTION
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and gather ingredients.
- Add eggs to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment and beat on medium-low speed for 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add sweetener of choice and vanilla extract (if using) and continue mixing for 1-2 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter over medium-low heat just until butter is melted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and cool for a few minutes before the next step.
- Slowly add the butter and milk mixture to the egg mixture and beat until combined.
- Pour the cake mixture into a greased baking dish (8x8), and bake for 45 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in the centre comes out clean.
- Cool before serving, and enjoy!
